Welcome to Girl Power Rocks' Summer STEAM Workforce Training Camp—an exciting opportunity for learning, growth, and positive change in our girls' future! Our camp empowers girls through education and instills the confidence that they are in charge of shaping their own destinies.
The Girl Power Summer STEAM Workforce Training Camp integrates STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) to foster creativity, problem-solving skills, confidence, and collaboration. Our curriculum equips girls with valuable skills that give them an advantage when entering the workforce. By combining STEAM training with workforce skills development, we provide girls from low-income families with the chance to explore careers in high-demand and high-paying fields.
Research shows that women of color are underrepresented in STEM careers, which is why Girl Power is dedicated to narrowing this gap through our high-quality STEAM Summer Camp. Our camp introduces innovative learning methods that develop practical skills with real-world applications.

Why is STEAM Important for Girls?
Science, technology, engineering, and math are the fastest-growing sectors, with the most high-paying employment opportunities in low-and-middle-income economies. Despite this growth, the Council on Foreign Relations, women hold less than 30% of jobs in STEAM.
Girl Power provides programming for at-promise girls who come from mostly low-income communities. By providing them with hands-on training in STEAM disciplines, as well as offering workforce training experience, we will be leveling the playing field for secondary education and career growth for these young women. We hope to encourage girls to explore STEAM careers by teaching them workforce readiness skills online through resume building, interviewing, and soft work skills. Empowering young women to pursue their dreams and earn their highest potential income helps to not only uplift them but, in addition, their families and communities.
What Makes the Girl Power Summer STEAM Workforce Training Camp Special?
Girl Power's Summer STEAM Workforce Training Camp is a memorable experience because we offer activities using evidence based curriculums to teach social-emotional learning, Health and Wellness and Entrepreneurship Skills in an interactive way. We also impliment mindfulness and yoga so girls can learn how to channel their emotions in productive and healthy ways.
Throughout camp, our girls will be exploring their creativity in our Girl Power Hour sessions, where they will engage in fun projects such as head wrapping, painting, jewelry making and tie-dye. Girls will also receive supply packages that will allow them to participate in hands-on STEAM projects. These STEAM projects further enrich their learning by allowing them to understand how STEAM impacts our world and our everyday lives.
A final component of The Girl Power Summer STEAM Workforce Training Camp is teaching entrepreneurship skills to ensure continued success throughout their careers. Girls will learn how to manage the finances of a business to have a prosperous career and future. To get a jumpstart on their savings, campers will earn a stipend based on attendance to help them learn the value of money. Thanks to our enriching program and engaged instructors, these lessons will be instilled in our campers through real-world applications and hands-on projects.
